What a day, what a struggle, very strong headwinds all the 50 plus miles a real struggle at times to keep going, winds straight off the North Sea into my face with average speed down a lot of the way, yet I still managed over 11mph overall, which is pretty good but had to work for it. Now I know why the bus shelters look like they do goodness knows what it's like in the winter. The route is not so easy to follow as in Germany / Holland cycle ways just stop and you're left to it, so its map / app out and work it out for yourself. Stopped in Ribe the oldest town in Scandinavia with lots of lovely little wooden houses and very picturesque. Not much to Esbjerg a working port sort of town and everything closed as it's Sunday. Hope to reach the east coast of Denmark tomorrow, that's 7 days down now and 4 to go with 311 miles under the belt. Windy flag pic tonight!
