A pleasant and relatively straight forward cycle across Ostfriesland in Lower Saxony very like Holland. Weather cool but broken sunshine and breezy at times. Not much in the way of sights today but wind turbines aplenty. Wilhelmshaven very much a rebuilt post war city with many now derelict 70s buildings a sad sort of place once clearly of great importance as base of the Kaiser's grand fleet in WW1. Crossed the Kaiser Wilhelm bridge built in 1906/7 which was open earlier with a split diagonal opening, usual as it pivots in two parts on each support island.
