So my Dad always said in times of adversity. A day of trials, having studied the map in detail last night set off early and turned right at bottom of street as planned, faced by an extremely long hill climb of at least 1 in 4, bloody steep but struggled up to the top, remember I'm carrying three fully laden bags too, not just pedalling the bike, anyway at the top checked position etc only to find climbed the wrong hill! Back down start again out the right road and you guessed it same size hill in the right direction! Cold grey windy need I say more, a trial again, then bout 10 miles in I discovered I had the B&B keys in my pocket! Up down, up down, up down, all the way here and with bout 15 miles to go, I a slow puncture was discovered, slow one but it's there. Pumped it up and managed to get to Aarhus ok, looked at my phone to see the tracking app had frozen for some reason after 19 miles. Found the hotel eventually it's a building site at the moment and has been for 18 months I found out, it's increasing in size to over 400 rooms. I was told very firmly by the unhelpful desk staff that no way was my bike coming into the hotel, said the ladies on the desk absolutely not! David know, they do not ! Suffice to say my bike is now nestled safely in the hotel's private car park nicely cleaned and lubricated with new rear tube in place and the nice lady at the chain of hotels HQ in Copenhagen has to be thanked! (Not that she cleaned the bike etc, I did that) and am sure the manager here will be dispensing some customer care sessions soon. Nice town and to ease the pains of the day the sky cleared and the sun came out ! Pics of the church and the riverside.
